Rebellion!

In mid July I managed to buy from a fellow wargamer a rather nice set of already painted continental army for the American War of Independence elsewhere known as American Revolution or just American Rebellion! In the past I planned to do this conflict on the tabletop, and even have some unpainted boxes in my pile of shame, but when I was offered this batch at a good price, I couldn't say no!

I got 12 batallions of infantry, two guns, one unit of cavalry and couple of mounted command. When I showed off my purchase at my club, my good mate Sebastian was easily triggered and over the summer he has painted a couple of units of the British, Hessian and Indians. 

It was just enough so that we could play our first game of the AWI last Friday using Black Powder rules.

For the game I gave him two units of militia and one piece of artillery, that he used as loyalists and in this way we mnade the game more even with each of us having four brigades. 

We used a simple scenario with three crossroads being objectives. The gamne started well for myself, but slowly the foruned turned for the British forces and the game ended up with Sebastian's victory.

In the seventh round of the game he took two crossroads and broken my army (I lost three out of four brigades and I destroyed two of his).

The game was very fun and we already plan new ones... with some new units to be painted!

It is sebastian with whom we also build the Franco Prussian War forces and plan the first game to be somewhere in the Autumn (fingers crossed!).

W połowie lipca udało mi się kupić od znajomego gracza całkiem niezły zestaw już pomalowanej armii kontynentalnej na amerykańską wojnę o niepodległość, znanej gdzie indziej jako amerykańska rewolucja lub po prostu amerykańska rebelia! W przeszłości planowałem podjąć "ten temat", a nawet mam już  kilka  pudełek w moim stosie wstydu, ale kiedy kolega zaoferował mi gotowy zestaw w dobrej cenie, nie mogłem odmówić!

W kupionej armii mam 12 batalionów piechoty, dwa działa, jeden oddział kawalerii i kilku dowódców. Kiedy pokazałem swój zakup w klubie, mój przyjaciel Sebastian dał się łatwo sprowokować i przez lato pomalował kilka oddziałów Brytyjczyków, Hesów i Indian.

To wystarczyło, abyśmy w miniony piątek mogli rozegrać naszą pierwszą grę w AWI  (na zasadach Black Powder).

Do gry dałem mu dwa oddziały milicji, które użył jako lojalistów i w ten sposób wyrównaliśmy szanse - każdy z nas miał po cztery brygady.

Rozegraliśmy w miarę prosty scenariusz z trzema skrzyżowaniami jako "objectivami". Gra zaczęła się dla mnie dobrze, ale powoli fortuna odwróciła się na korzyść sił brytyjskich i gra zakończyła się zwycięstwem Sebastiana.

W siódmej rundzie gry zajął dwa skrzyżowania i rozbił moją armię (straciłem trzy z czterech brygad, a sam zniszczyłem dwie jego).

Gra była bardzo fajna i już planujemy kolejne... z nowymi jednostkami do pomalowania!

To właśnie z Sebastianem budujemy również armie na wojnę francusko-pruską i planujemy pierwszą grę gdzieś na jesień (oby!).
