Paint it Black vol. 9

 Hello!

Last night I have finished the first of the only two cavalry regiments of Brunswick, and probably one of the most "iconic", the Black Hussars. For the horses I used for the first time the Xpress Model Color paints from Vallejo and I was not very happy with these. I don't see them working very well on large surfaces or I don't know how to use them.

These minis did not have a "good start" as just before finishing the bases, I dropped a tray with them. The whole unit hit the ground, the riders fell of the horses, and the paint chipped off, so I had a lot of additional work repairing them. Hope they will serve better on the tabletop!

Ulhans and high command are already on the painting bench.

I have also assembled the forge and ammunition wagon from the British Perry Miniatures sets (BH64 and BH65), that I plan painting as Brunswickers. Still haven't decided if to base them separately or on one bigger scenic base. I'm rather fond of putting them together. Thay will make a nice addition to the gaming table!

Wczoraj wieczorem ukończyłem pierwszy z zaledwie dwóch pułków kawalerii Brunszwiku i prawdopodobnie jeden z najbardziej „ikonicznych” - Czarnych Huzarów. Do malowania koni po raz pierwszy użyłem farb Xpress Model Color od Vallejo i muszę przyznać, że nie byłem z nich zbyt zadowolony. Nie widzę, żeby działały zbyt dobrze na dużych powierzchniach, albo nie potrafię z nich korzystać.

Ten oddział nie miał "dobrego startu", bo tuż przed wykończeniem podstawek upuściłem go na podłogę. Cała jednostka walnęła w ziemię, jeźdźcy spadli z koni, a farba częściowo odpadła. Miałem dużo dodatkowej pracy przy ich naprawie. Mam nadzieję, że będą lepiej służyć na stole!

Ułani i naczelne dowództwo są już w trakcie malowania.

Złożyłem też kuźnię i wóz amunicyjny z brytyjskich zestawów od Perry Miniatures (BH64 i BH65), które planuję pomalować jako jednostki Brunszwiku. Nadal nie zdecydowałem, czy podstawkować je osobno, czy na jednej większej. Raczej wybiorę jedną większą podstawkę sceniczną. Te zestawy będą miłym dodatkiem na stole do gry!
